Stellar Network presents Pitch Up - 1st December - Channel 4.

Stellar Network is teaming up with Channel 4 and an elite panel of execs and commissioners to hear some amazing new TV ideas in the latest in the successful Pitch Up series.

Congratulations to the 20 lucky pitchers who have now been informed and have won the chance to pitch their idea to the people who matter.

Now it's your chance to hear their ideas and see what the commissioners think.  Get in quick to be an audience member at Pitch Up 2009 at Channel 4 on 1st December form 6.30pm. You'll hear expert feedback on the commissioning process and how to get your great idea heard. Each pitcher will get around five minutes to pitch and receive feedback. Watch and learn!

Our panel will select the top three pitches, who will win a fantastic set of prizes. And, of course, there's always the chance that one of these incredible ideas will be taken on by a member of our panel and might just end up on screen.  Here's previous winner Sam Burr's testimonial:

"Since winning Stellar Network's 'Pitch Up' competition at Channel 4 I have been continuing to develop my format with various production companies and with Channel 4... the competition was a fantastic experience"

The top panel includes

Sara Johnson - Head of Development - La Plante Productions

Sara began her career as script editor on Eastenders, before establishing the drama department at Channel 5. After a period in script development at several major indies she was appointed Head of Drama at Sky One. During her time there she executively produced the long-running series 'Dream Team' and 'Mile High', in addition to commissioning 'Hex' and developing Terry Pratchett's 'Hogfather'. She is also a tireless charity campaigner for the genetic disorder charity 'Jeans for Genes'.

Benjamin McGrath - Development Editor, ITV Drama Commissioning

Ben joined ITV Productions as a runner in 2004; moving on to become Assistant to Saurabh Kakkar Controller of Comedy and Christine Langan, producer of the award winning films ‘The Queen’ and ‘Pierrepoint’ – with brief stints as a production assistant on a comedy sketch show for ITV2 and as a script coordinator on a sketch show for BBC3, as well as writing and developing his own work. Ben joined the ITV Drama Commissioning Team in 2007 in a newly created development role to provide editorial judgement on scripts and treatments, script editing and supervising scripts from early development through to production and has become a key point of contact for newer independents and writers seeking guidance on submissions and ITV drama strategy. Ben has worked on a range of shows that includes the second season of Law and Order UK and the Agatha Christie titles as well as overseeing the development of original drama commissions for ITV2. Ben was named as one of Broadcast Magazine’s Hotshots in 2008 and is a member of TAPS’ Artistic Advisory Board, and of the RTS Futures Advisory Committee.
